چکیده
Objective: To determine the diagnostic significance of sonographic signs indicating parotid glands’ condition in children with juvenile recurrent parotitis (JRP). Materials and methods: We examined 42 patients JRP 30 aged 3-17 years from control group. Both groups underwent B-mode color Doppler ultrasonography glands to assess linear dimensions, contours, structures, echogenicity, pronouncement stromal component, parenchymal vascularization, intraglandular lymph nodes. The was assessed by ROC analysis. Results discussion: found significant differences between study terms such as gland enlargement, decreased change echotexture, increased reactive nodes (P < .05). With high-frequency probe we were able structure JRP-associated hypoechoic foci parenchyma prove that they are not cystic dilatation ducts but infiltration around peripheral structurally altered walls. Conclusions: Ultrasonography plays a pivotal role diagnosis can identify its most signs, size, distinctive changes vascularization.

Autosomal dominant juvenile recurrent parotitis.
Juvenile recurrent parotitis is a common cause of inflammatory salivary gland swelling in children. A variety of aetiological factors has been proposed for the condition. Here we present a family where four members had juvenile recurrent parotitis and where two other family members may have had an atypical form of the condition. The segregation pattern in the family is consistent with autosomal...

Juvenile recurrent parotitis (JRP) is the second most frequent salivary gland disease in childhood, defined as a recurrent non-suppurative and non-obstructive parotid inflammation. The recurring attacks actually represent the most dramatic and serious aspect of this pathology, since they significantly influence the quality of life, and there are no recognized therapies to avoid them. In recent ...

From time to time a child is seen with swelling of the parotid gland in whom mumps is diagnosed, yet the parent states that the patient has had that disase several times before. Due largely to the work of Payne (1933, 1938, 1940) the condition of recurrent parotid swelling has been defined as a clinical entity, but most of the published accounts refer to adults. The disease, however, is by no m...
